The limeworks in Himmerland

The lime plant in Mjels is located in Himmerland, approximately 12 km south of Aalborg. The lime extracted in Mjels is uniform and suitable for several types of use.

Mjels Kalkmærk produces agricultural lime, magnesium lime, garden lime and environmental lime on the plant’s approximately 30 hectares.

In addition, dolomite lime is sold, which is an imported lime product with a high magnesium content and is used where needed for extra magnesium supply.

Production and use

The production in Mjels is targeted at lime for agriculture and green areas, where uniform distribution, stable quality and effective effect are crucial. The lime plant complements Dankalk’s other production and contributes to our flexibility and delivery reliability.
