Since the 1960s dankalk has worked closely with the industrial sector in developing Chalk products. Therefore, we can provide a wide range of special products with high level of refinement.

Through close and strong cooperation, the industrial sector has become one of our largest buyers of limestone and chalk and we expect that these products will have even more applications in the future.
Limestone and chalk are very flexible products with great potential and we believe that improved and specialised product processing will open up new markets. We therefore look forward keeping a close cooperation with industrial companies and related businesses.

dankalk is always developing new limestone-based products for use in industry. The purified material is mainly used as neutral homogeneous filler. At the same time limestone and chalk have the advantage of being low-cost, easy to transport and easy to handle.

Burnt Lime - other industry

CaO – Other industry

Burnt lime is made by burning limestone at a temperature of 1100-1200oC. By the burning carbon dioxide (CO2) is driven off the limestone (CaCO3), and burnt lime is made (CaO).

Danchalk P - plastic industry

CaCO3 Plastic industry

dankalk extracts chalk from below the water table. By making it into a slurry, by cleaning it and by pulverising the chalk, it becomes extremely fine chalk products with 97-98 % CaCO3 and a particle size of less than 10 μm. In dried form and further micronized, the product can be used as filler in various plastic products such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

Aalborg University Esbjerge have been carried out some projects for dankalk. The conclusion of these projects is that it is possible to work approx. 25 % danchalk® P into polypropylene and approx.​
​35 % coated danchalk (danchalk® PC) into polypropylene using completely conventional extruders. By using extruders with, for example, side feeders, these amounts can be increased. The coating agent used by dankalk is stearate (stearic acid) and the quantity of coating agent is approx. 2 %. The reason for using stearate is that it is a lubricant which is already used in injection moulding processes. It gives the surface of the chalk particles a greater ability to mix with the plastic material whilst at the same time protecting the extruder against wear.

Danchalk® - other industry

F-10 Mineral chalk
The product is made from white chalk, which is crushed, pulverized, dried and sieved.

Mineralchalk F-10 is today also used for pH adjustment for sphagnum products

dankalk is involved in the ongoing development – in collaboration with a number of companies – of new chalk-based products for industrial use. The refined material is in this case used primarily as a neutral homogeneous filler, where it acts as a pH regulator. At the same time, lime and chalk have the added benefits of being cheap, easy to transport and easy to handle.

The product is made from white chalk, which is crushed, pulverized, dried and sieved.

F-12 Mineral Chalk is a coarse particle Product that reacts with flue gas. It is in particularly suitable in a fluibed – kettle. Equally can F-12 Mineral Chalk be used for pH-regulator for raising of Christmas trees.
